Jennifer Aniston's Boyfriend Jim Curtis Shares How They Deal with 'Flare-Ups' in Their Relationship

Jennifer Aniston‘s boyfriend Jim Curtis is opening up about their communication style.

The 50-year-old hypnotherapist appeared on a recent episode of the Ced with Intention podcast where he detailed how he and the 57-year-old Friends actress deal with “flare-ups” in their relationship.

Keep reading to find out more…“I spend a lot of time with my girlfriend. We spend a lot of time in the house together. Sometimes, we can have little things that flare up,” Jim shared. “We have the opportunity to be silent and be angry, [we] could leave the house, think about it and meditate on how to change it.”

“Or we can say, ‘Hey, this is what happened, I’m sorry,’ and do the repair, and then go and really work on making sure it happens less or doesn’t happen again,” he explained. “Because once you make a repair and it just happens five more times, no one trusts it.”

Jim also noted that in a relationship, “there has to be some agreement” between partners about putting in equal effort.

“In this relationship, you can’t be emotionally closed off while I’m doing all the work,” he explained. “We both have to work on ourselves. I can’t fix you, you can’t fix me. But we have to at least be in agreement, ‘This is gonna happen when we have this discussion.’”

Jim continued, “We’ve had discussions where, before anything bad happens, ‘In this situation, do you need time? Do you need 10 minutes to yourself to think about it, or do you want to get into it immediately? Is it OK if we sleep overnight, or are you the type of person who, if you go to bed angry, it’s really painful for you?’”

“I think there needs to be, especially in a romantic relationship, you need to pregame the rules to this thing that you’re doing,” he added.

If you didn’t know, Jennifer and Jim have been romantically linked since summer 2025 and made their relationship Instagram official in September. They also spent the Thanksgiving holiday together.
