Amid the news of former Prince Andrew’s arrest, there is increased scrutiny on his relationship with his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
On Thursday, February 19, British police arrested Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor on suspicion of misconduct in public office amid growing pressure over his ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. His arrest is connected to accusations that he shared confidential information with Epstein while serving as a British trade envoy.
Andrew has faced a steady stream of backlash in the years since one of Epstein’s most prominent accusers, Virginia Giuffre, claimed she was sex trafficked to the British Royal multiple times as a teenager.
After Andrew was stripped of his royal titles in 2025, attention soon turned to the dynamics between him and his children with ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, who is accused of taking money from Epstein.
According to sources, Princess Eugenie is keeping her distance from her disgraced father, while Princess Beatrice continues to keep in contact. This was proven by a secret outing involving Beatrice, her father, and daughter in late January.
Insiders told the Daily Mail in January that Eugenie is allegedly “refusing to speak to Andrew and did not visit him at Christmas. Eugenie, who established The Anti-Slavery Collective to help counter sex trafficking, is said to be unhappy with her father’s refusal to apologize to Epstein’s victims.
They added, “There is no contact at all, nothing. It’s Brooklyn Beckham level—she has completely cut him off.” This refers to the estrangement between Brooklyn Beckham and his parents, David and Victoria Beckham.
But what about Princess Beatrice? Well, insiders claimed to the outlet: “Beatrice is trying to walk the fine line of not cutting her father off and yet remaining close with the Royal Family. They aren’t exactly in regular and close contact at the moment, but Eugenie isn’t trying to walk that line. She’s not speaking to him.”

In files released by the United States Department of Justice, Beatrice and Eugenie’s mother appeared to be in close contact with Epstein after he was released from prison in 2009, having served a sentence for soliciting prostitution from a minor. In an email, Ferguson made plans to have lunch with Epstein and her daughters five days after he was released from prison.
“It’s incredibly distressing for both young women to see themselves mentioned so freely by their parents to a convicted sex offender,” said Russell Myers, the royal editor of Britain’s The Mirror told CNN on February 17.
“The questions remain, both inside the palace and publicly, as to whether Beatrice and Eugenie could have raised concerns both to their parents, or more widely, considering how close they were brought into Epstein’s world, even after he was convicted of serious sex offenses.”
Sexual abuse allegations were brought back to the forefront amid the release of the Epstein files and thanks to Giuffre’s posthumously-released memoir, NOBODY’S GIRL, leading him to lose his titles and his royal residence before his arrest.
