Their impact has even earned them spots on both the TIME100 Creators list and Forbes Top Creators of 2025.

The Stokes Twins also told us 10 Fun Facts about themselves!
1. We were born in Fujian, China, and moved to Memphis, Tennessee when we were six.
Moving that young was a full culture shock. New country, new language, new everything. We honestly didn’t know how to fit in at first, so we did the one thing that always worked: we tried to make people laugh. That was the universal language. It became our shortcut to making friends, and it’s still kind of the story of our lives. Now we live in Los Angeles, and it still feels surreal that our childhood dream turned into real life.
2. We started making YouTube videos as a hobby, and we genuinely didn’t even know you could make money from it.
We weren’t thinking “career,” we were thinking “this is fun.” We made videos because we loved it, and the fact that it turned into our job is still crazy to us. It feels like a blessing that we get to do what we’d do for free, and somehow it became the best job in the world.
3. We started filming videos when we were ten years old, and we were obsessed immediately.
We didn’t have a “plan,” we just loved messing around and trying to make each other laugh. We’d turn anything into a video: backyard WWE-style matches, little skits, challenges, whatever we could think of. It was pure kid chaos, but that’s where everything started.
4. Our mom was serious about school, so we grew up super disciplined.
We were the “straight A” kids, and yeah, we had perfect test scores too. But the bigger thing wasn’t the grades, it was the structure: homework first, no excuses, stay focused, do it right. At the time, we thought it was strict. Now we’re grateful, because that same discipline is what lets us stay consistent and grind through the unglamorous parts of creating when nobody’s watching.
5. We didn’t get cell phones until we were 18, which honestly explains a lot.
No scrolling, no group chats, no being distracted 24/7. If we were bored, we had to actually invent something to do, so we’d make up games, act out scenes, or film something. Looking back, it forced us to build imagination like a muscle.
6. Alex will obsess over details like it’s a sport.
He’ll spend months studying what makes videos hit: pacing, editing rhythms, thumbnails, titles, retention, all of it. It’s not just “post and hope.” We’re always trying to learn what makes people laugh, stay, and come back.
7. When we first went all-in, it was broke creator survival mode, but it’s hilarious looking back.
We were couch-surfing and stretching every dollar like it was a challenge video. Costco samples were definitely part of the snack budget. Public gyms were our “shower plan.” It sounds wild, but we were so locked in on the dream that we treated it like an adventure, not a problem.
8. Our fans mean everything to us, and we basically never turn down a photo.
If someone comes up to us, we’re stopping. Always. The funniest part is how fast it can escalate. One person recognizes us in an airport or Disneyland and it turns into a chain reaction where suddenly there’s a crowd forming and everyone’s like, “Wait… what’s happening right now?”
9. Having a twin brother is the biggest blessing, and it’s the ultimate life and business cheat code.
We split responsibilities naturally. He thinks like me, we trust each other completely, and there’s no one else on earth we’d rather build with. You can’t really find that level of trust out in the world. We’re with each other from A to Z on everything.
10. We’re not just trying to be “YouTubers.” We’re building a full universe.
We love YouTube, but we think bigger than one platform: long-form, short-form, streaming, live experiences, products, and big event-style projects. The goal is to keep leveling up the scale while staying true to what people came for in the first place: fun, chaos, and making people feel good!
