Berlin Forum Highlights Support for Women in Afghanistan
The World Forum 2026 in Berlin brought together global leaders and activists to discuss threats to democracy, AI regulation, and human rights issues.
The conference, held February 15–17 in Berlin, featured notable figures including former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Nobel Peace Prize winners, and human rights advocates.
Opening ceremonies featured Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton, emphasizing the forum’s focus on the future of democracy and equitable wealth distribution worldwide.
Clinton cautioned that democracy faces serious threats from transnational autocratic alliances, citing Russian influence and domestic sympathizers in the U.S., and called for vigilance by advocates.
The World Forum 2026 also focused on AI governance, exploring global regulatory frameworks to ensure technology aligns with human rights and democratic values.
Afghan participants, including Parwana Ibrahimkhil Najrabi, highlighted the deteriorating situation in Afghanistan, urging the international community to withhold recognition of the Taliban regime.
Najrabi warned that growing ties between regional countries and the Taliban could further worsen the rights of women and fundamental freedoms in Afghanistan.
Delegates concluded that defending democracy, human rights, and ethical AI use requires coordinated international action, awareness of authoritarian influence, and support for vulnerable populations.
