Netflix Quietly Cancels Show After Initially Approving 2nd Season
Over the past few months Netflix has been forced to cancel a number of shows - some before they even left the planning stages and others after they've become more established.
The streaming platform releases more than 700 titles a year, according to Investing.com. While it's heavily invested in new content, Netflix isn't immune to producing a few duds every now and then, or perhaps just simply shows that get lost in the shuffle of today's streaming mess.
Netflix Quietly Cancels Show Before Its Second Season
One of the shows that didn't get enough love from the audience to ensure a second season was made was quietly put down by the streaming giant this year. In late September of 2022, Netflix India announced an official Hindi adaptation of the hit Original Spanish series Elite called Class.
What's on Netflix wrote summary of the show that reads, "As with the inspiration series, the new Hindi show focused on the turbulent integration of three working-class students into a private high school that caters to wealthy families."
The show initially debuted on Feb. 3, 2023 and wasn't an initial hit for the international market, but did find big regional success, spending seven weeks in the Top 10 in India, and five weeks in both Bangladesh and Pakistan.

'Class' Runs Into Major Problems
Netflix initially ordered a second season of the show just a month after its debut. However, Class ran into immediately problems thereafter, when actor Gurfateh Pirzada wrote on his Instagram that the second season wasn't happening.
"Unfortunately we could not give you another season because life usually has other plans…l still remember it was the last week of 2024 when I heard the news of class being cancelled and I came down with a high fever and thought not again…not another one of my projects getting shelved," he said at the time.
Still Netflix hadn't officially canceled the show.
What's on Netflix noticed that the streaming platform quietly removed the “It’s Official: Another Season is Coming” label from Class‘s catalogue entry, a subtle nod that the show won't be returning for another season.
