The Internet Wouldn’t Let This Rumor About Gwyneth Paltrow’s Daughter Go, Now Apple Martin Is Speaking Out
Gwyneth Paltrow’s daughter, Apple Martin, is taking a stand, and she’s not going to let a long-standing internet rumor take her down.
The 21-year-old college student took to her Instagram Story on February 16 to shut down the haters who claim she was expelled from her high school because of bullying allegations.
She wrote, “Just a quick little message from myself,” and then shared what appeared to be a screenshotted comment she wrote under another post.
“Hi! I didn’t wanna respond, but this narrative is completely false and has gotten so out of hand,” Apple continued. “I have never been expelled from any school, especially not for bullying anyone. I completely understand ppl not liking me, and that is okay! The Internet is a place are ppl can share their opinions.”
She then doubled down on squashing the story for good, noting that “this rumor is completely untrue.” Apple shared that she’s “not that type of person, and anyone who is close to me knows that.”
It’s unclear where the rumor originated, but Apple has been likened to a “mean girl” before, as evidenced by Paris Match‘s TikTok of her upstaging Countess Aliénor Loppin de Montmort’s photo session at Le Bal des Débutantes in Paris, France, in November 2024. The video clip caused a fuss on social media, but Loppin de Montmort downplayed the situation, telling People, “[Apple’s] genuinely the nicest girl ever!”
“She really doesn’t deserve an ounce of what she’s getting,” she said at the time. “She was the nicest girl ever towards not only me but all the debs!”
Apple also defended herself in an April 2025 feature with Interview Magazine. “I just try to do what feels right and block out anything regarding me in the news to the best of my ability,” she continued. “And I’m getting a lot better at being like, ‘F— it.’ I’m not going to be scared. I just want to do what seems fun and figure my life out.”
Apple, who is also the daughter of Coldplay frontman, Chris Martin, is set to graduate from Vanderbilt University in the spring.
