The Mandalorian and Grogu trailer promises classic Star Wars adventure... and a weirdly buff Hutt
The adventures of bounty hunter Din Djarin (Pedro Pascal) and his adorable apprentice Grogu just got a lot bigger.
The pair jumps from TV to the big screen this year, headlining The Mandalorian and Grogu, the first Star Wars theatrical release since 2019's The Rise of Skywalker. The Mandalorian series creator Jon Favreau directed the film and co-wrote it with Lucasfilm president Dave Filoni.
The Mandalorian and Grogu sees the young New Republic recruiting Din and Grogu to take down the Imperial warlords still scattered across the galaxy. The film's latest trailer shows the pair in action, whether it's Din annihilating any guard who stands in his way, or Grogu taking down a droid with the Force. (And no, I still can't get over Grogu's precious little armor.)
The trailer also highlights some of the characters — both new and familiar — whom Din and Grogu will be crossing paths with. Sigourney Weaver plays New Republic pilot and colonel Ward, who appears to be responsible for bringing Din and Grogu into the fold. Steven Blum returns as the voice of Star Wars Rebels character Garazeb "Zeb" Orrellios, who also appeared in The Mandalorian Season 3.
Then, of course, there's the matter of The Bear star Jeremy Allen White as the voice of Jabba the Hutt's son Rotta. Do we actually hear White's Hutt voice in the trailer? No. But do we see a very buff Rotta tearing it up in a fighting pit? Yes. Consider me intrigued and mildly terrified by this big, beefy, Bear-y Hutt.
