Welcome to the Bay Area News Group (Mercury News & East Bay Times) boys Athlete of the Week poll.
For the entire academic year, we will provide a list of candidates who stood out over the previous week and allow you, the reader, to vote for the winner.
This week, we consider performances from Feb. 9-14.
Polls close at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Vote as many times as you’d like until then without using bots or any other artificial methods of voting.
Votes by email and after 5 p.m. Wednesday are not counted.

Winners are announced each Friday online and in the print edition of the Mercury News and East Bay Times sports sections.
Candidates for future Athlete of the Week polls can be nominated at highschools@bayareanewsgroup.com.
We accept nominations until 11 a.m. each Monday.
We also review stats submitted to MaxPreps by coaches/team statisticians.
On to the nominees:
Nicolas Bran, Newark Memorial soccer: Bran scored two goals and had an assist to lead the Cougars to a 7-0 win over Moreau Catholic. Newark Memorial will host Mt. Diablo in the first round of the North Coast Section Division II playoffs on Tuesday.
Calder Corson, Berkeley soccer: Corson scored a goal and had an assist in Berkeley’s 5-0 win over Bishop O’Dowd. Berkeley will host Ygnacio Valley in the first round of the NCS Division I playoffs on Wednesday.
Donovan Ferreira, Santa Clara soccer: The senior scored a goal in Santa Clara’s 4-2 win over Los Gatos. Santa Clara is 10-5-4.
Brayden Gumabo, Willow Glen basketball: Gumabo scored 19 points to lead Willow Glen to a 62-43 win over Pioneer. Willow Glen is 20-2.
Jaiden Miller, Liberty basketball: The junior scored 33 points in Liberty’s 62-52 win over Pittsburg. Liberty (23-3) will host Freedom in the first round of the NCS playoffs on Tuesday.
Avery Montejano, Christopher soccer: The senior scored two goals to lead Christopher to a 2-1 win over Gilroy. Christopher is 12-2-4.
Tarun Srikanth, American basketball: Srikanth had 23 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks in a loss to Moreau Catholic. American ended its season 9-17.
Alonzo Walker III, Dougherty Valley basketball: Walker scored 20 points to lead Dougherty Valley past De La Salle in the East Bay Athletic League championship game. Dougherty Valley will travel to Marin Catholic on Thursday in the first round of the NCS Open Division playoffs.
Grant Wolfgram, San Mateo basketball: Wolfgram scored 36 points in a 47-30 win over Hillsdale. San Mateo is 11-13.
Ethan Zhao, Menlo School basketball: The senior guard had a game-high 23 points on 9-of-12 shooting against Sacred Heart Prep and surpassed 1,000 career points. He finished the week with 39 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and five steals as the Knights split with a loss to SHP and a win over Eastside.
