Jarren Duran Hasn’t Discussed Batting Order Placement With Red Sox Yet
Boston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran revealed Monday that he has not yet spoken with the club about his spot in the batting order as the team prepares for the 2026 season.
The update came from Tyler Milliken of 98.5 The Sports Hub, who shared on X: “Jarren Duran says he hasn’t had any conversations yet about where he’ll hit in the batting order. Sounds like him and Trevor Story are going to be spending a lot of time together with Rob Refsnyder and Alex Bregman gone.”
Boston will likely sort through options once full-squad workouts begin and exhibition games provide live data. Duran’s track record of producing from multiple lineup positions gives the club flexibility without rushing decisions this early in camp.
Duran delivered a solid 2025 season for the Red Sox, appearing in 157 games while batting .256 with 86 runs scored, 159 hits, 41 doubles, 13 triples, 16 home runs, and 84 RBI.
His OPS landed at .774, along with 60 walks and 24 stolen bases. Duran stood out on the bases and in extra-base hits, leading the team with 13 triples (more than the rest of the Red Sox combined) and contributing strong baserunning value.
Though his power and average dipped from prior years, he remained a consistent leadoff presence and valuable contributor in the outfield.
