Patriots Earn ‘Failing Travel Grade,’ Blasted For ‘Team Plane’ Issues In NFLPA Report Cards
The New England Patriots’ 2025 season was a magical ride, which came up just short of a record seventh Lombardi Trophy.
New England had an historic turnaround from back-to-back 4-13 campaigns to a 14-3 regular season and berth in Super Bowl LX, where it fell to the Seattle Seahawks.
The Patriots are among 11 teams, however, that recently received complaints in the NFL Players Association’s annual report cards.
The NFL won a ruling after filing a grievance over the NFLPA’s report cards in an effort to keep them from publicizing the complaints.
Pro Football Talk obtained a copy of the 26-page ruling though and according to PFT’s Mike Florio, “the opinion also includes a full list of the criticisms about which the NFL complained from the 2025 report cards.”
Per Florio’s report, the NFLPA gave New England a “failing travel grade” due to their team plane.
“Players specifically responded that ‘our plane is the worst thing – size, space, (and) safety,’ and ‘it is not conducive to preparedness for athletic performance,’ because, among other things, ‘it lacks Wi-Fi and still has ashtrays in the seats.’ One player also referred to the carpeting in the locker room as ‘dingy with pieces missing,'” Florio wrote.
Robert Kraft of the Patriots wasn’t among a trio of team owners specifically mentioned in the report.
Those included Arizona Cardinals owner Michael Bidwill, Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper and New York Jets owner Woody Johnson, according to Florio.
