Peter Navarro Weighs in on the Prosperous Economy Under President Trump – “We are Seeing Strong, Strong Growth, and it’s All Happening in a Disinflation Environment” (VIDEO)

Peter Navarro was on “Sunday Morning Futures” with host Maria Bartiromo to talk about the booming economy under President Trump. Inflation has been down, while the number of jobs and wages have been up. President Trump’s tariffs have brought in billions of dollars into the US economy.

“New data this week approving President Trump’s economy is boosting Americans’ bottom lines across the country. Inflation is down, while growth, jobs, and wages are all up,” Bartiromo said.

“One of the big catalysts, lower energy prices, due to the President’s push for America’s energy independence,” Bartiromo said.

“And there is jobs. 130,000 jobs were created last month in January, nearly double the expectations,” Bartiromo continued.

“Can you assess the macroeconomic story for us, and how it is impacting citizens today?” Bartiromo asked.

Navarro explained that growth in the economy shows in the stock market, rising wages, manufacturing, and lower inflation.

“It’s the perfect Trump economy in 2026. It’s what we call a Goldilocks economy. Last time we saw what we were seeing now was 1998. What are we seeing? We are seeing stock market over 50 thousand dollars, that’s Wall Street. But we are also seeing rising real wages, and that’s main street. We are seeing a return to manufacturing. We are seeing strong, strong growth, and it’s all happening in a disinflation environment,” Navarro said.

“We’ve had the jobs report come in with blowout numbers,” Navarro said.

“CPI as you just reported. And this is happening because of tariffs, not in spite of them, as the critics would say because if there were any tariff inflation, it would show up in the core. It simply not doing that,” Navarro continued.

“When Americans get those rebate checks on Tax Day, that’s gonna be the biggest rebate and broad based in American history in 2026, unless of course the geopolitics gets in the way,” Navarro continued.

Navarro also said that the media needs to be more responsible in reporting on the economy. Their lack of objectivity is undermining confidence.

“The media has got to take some responsibility here and the Democrats to the extent they keep bashing us irrespective of the data. That’s gonna drag down confidence. It’s like come on, like see the data, speak the data, be real,” Navarro said.

“That is great news, and if you say things are even gonna be better than now, I believe you because I remember back in April of last year, it was so called liberation day when the President talked about his tariffs. And there was so much upset about it. I remember a day when the market was down 2,000 points. You came on my show, and you said the DOW is going to 50 thousand. And of course it did last week, so congrats on that prediction,” Bartiromo commented.

The topic of AI was also discussed. Navarro explained that President Trump is trying to balance the need to be number one in AI development for national security, but is also aware of the impact it can have on potential job losses.

“AI efficiencies are in fact replacing jobs, and people are worried that longer term, we will see their job go away because of AI. What’s the plan at the White House to counter those AI efficiencies, and how serious of an issue are you looking at this?” Bartiromo asked.

“It’s a massive issue and it’s right on the President’s desk, and on his radar. I think the one that has been most publicized is the effect on electricity prices, and the President has already taken action, and we will be taking a lot more,” Navarro said.

“The issue for the United States of America is to balance the need to be at the leading edge and the leader in artificial intelligence,” Navarro continued.

“At the same time, we have to be mindful of the impacts across this nation,” Navarro said.

“President Trump is aware of all four dimensions of the problem,” Navarro explained.
