Benjamin Netanyahu: Any Iran Deal Must Dismantle Nuclear Program, Limit Missiles
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said any future agreement must fully dismantle Iran’s nuclear infrastructure rather than simply limiting uranium enrichment activities.
He stressed that enriched uranium stockpiles should be removed entirely and Tehran’s ability to resume enrichment must be permanently ended under any agreement.
Netanyahu also demanded restrictions on Iran’s ballistic missile capabilities, proposing a maximum missile range of 300 kilometers to reduce regional security risks.
He further said Israel intends to gradually end reliance on US military assistance within seven years, emphasizing that the country will maintain its own defense capabilities.
Tensions surrounding Iran’s nuclear activities have intensified in recent years as negotiations between Tehran and Western powers have repeatedly stalled over sanctions relief and verification mechanisms.
Previous diplomatic efforts sought to limit uranium enrichment and monitoring activities, but disagreements over enforcement and regional security concerns have complicated efforts to achieve a lasting agreement.
Netanyahu’s remarks come as negotiations and regional discussions continue over preventing nuclear escalation while balancing broader Middle East security concerns.
