Michael Fassbender & Alicia Vikander Shut Down Divorce Rumors With First Red Carpet Appearance in Years
While Alicia Vikander and Michael Fassbender are rarely in the public eye, when they are, all eyes are on them.
In case you missed it, earlier this week on Feb 12, Vikander and Fassbender made an ultra-rare appearance together at the 2026 BAFTA Invest in Talent Gala at The Chancery Rosewood. See the photos below:
In the photos, we see the rarely-seen couple dressed up for the occasion, with Vikander in a baby blue custom Louis Vuitton gown.
Now, this is their first joint appearance in nearly two years, with the last time being for the 27th British Independent Film Awards in Dec 2024.
For those who don’t know, the pair quickly began a relationship in 2014 after meeting on the set of The Light Between Oceans. They later married in 2017 and have welcomed two sons born in 2021 and 2024. The pair are notoriously quiet, not even speaking publicly when the domestic abuse allegations against Fassbender hit headlines again amid the #MeToo movement. So any tidbit or red carpet moment together is a rarity.
In a 2025 interview with British Vogue, Vikander spoke about life with Fassbender, specifically about life a a mom, saying, “I love being a mom. I was terrified of what it is, going into it. I wasn’t really very maternal until I had my own children. But maybe even more after the second one arrived, I started to feel like, OK, I know this a little bit now. I’m a bit kinder to myself too.”
