“It really was the ultimate wedding gift that we didn’t know that we needed,” the Popular alum told the outlet.
“Ryan was like, ‘Listen, your friends and your family want to celebrate you, and I’m giving you a party and that’s that,’ which was so sweet,” Leslie continued. “It was funny because my first instinct was, ‘Oh, let’s not make a big deal out of this,’ and if you know Ryan Murphy, he’s not someone that you say no to. And of course, because Ryan is always right, it ended up being truly one of the most special nights of our lives.”
“It was so beautiful and perfect and lovely. It was a really great way to welcome in the new year,” she said.
Leslie‘s 19-year-old daughter Goldie from a previous marriage was in attendance, as were Sascha‘s three adult children.
The American Horror Story: 1984 star added that she wanted other women to know it’s never too late to meet the right person.
“You can meet someone when you both come into it with full lives and stories and a little emotional mileage, and it can still be as good as you thought it was going to be when you were a very young person. In fact, it’s even better,” she shared.
And there’s a benefit of falling in love later in life, mainly that “you’re together because you want to be, because you’re choosing it, not because you need it, you just want them in your life,” Leslie explained. “It’s just a reminder that it is never too late to start again and to begin again and to add a new chapter. It’s never, ever, ever too late.”
