The 2026 Recipients of the Brad Farrow Bursary
We are proud to announce that the 2026 recipients of the Brad Farrow Bursary are Rima Bourihane and Yehor Paladii, both from the Club de judo Sport Centre Ippon (QC).
Each recipient will receive a $2,000 bursary.
“Rima and Yehor consistently put in the work to elevate both their technical skills and physical conditioning. Their dedication throughout the past year has led to clear progress and positions them well to aim for the highest level in the near future,” said Judo Canada national coach Antoine Valois-Fortier.
About the Brad Farrow Bursary
The Brad Farrow Bursary is awarded to promising non-carded student-athletes who demonstrate commitment and dedication to training. The bursary supports athletes in pursuing their athletic careers, developing their full potential, and achieving their dreams.
Since 2008, more than $60,000 has been distributed to numerous athletes through this program.
Brad Farrow was inducted into the Judo Canada Hall of Fame as an athlete in 1997 in recognition of his outstanding national team career. His achievements include being a three-time Olympic team member and an eleven-time Canadian champion. Mr. Farrow created this bursary to give back to the sport, and it is funded entirely through his personal contributions.
On behalf of the recipient athletes, Judo Canada extends its sincere thanks to Mr. Farrow for his continued generosity.
In line with its mission and vision, Judo Canada is committed to providing the best possible environment for athletes at all levels to perform and enjoy the practice of judo.
