Black History Month 2026: A new ‘Sinners’ exhibit in LA champions the film’s achievements
“Sinners” made history as the most-nominated film ever, with 16 Oscar nominations, surpassing “Titanic” and “La La Land.” The cultural phenomenon is now taking over the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood to give fans an inside look during Black History Month.
The new limited-time exhibit titled “Sinners” will be on display now through March 31, and opens the studio tour’s new Stage: 48 Script to Screen section. Warner Bros. Studio Tours run daily from 9 a.m. through 3:30 pm. Tickets and discounts for Southern California residents are available via wbstudiotour.com.
Fans of the film will have the opportunity to examine its extensive collection of authentic pieces that earned “Sinners” Academy Award nominations in categories including costume design, production design, prosthetics, hair and makeup design, and more.
In addition to costumes for “Smoke,” “Stack,” and “Sammie Moore,” the film’s display now includes costumes for “Annie,” “Pearline,” “Delta Slim,” “Cornbread,” and “Mary.” Guests can also step into the world of Club Juke and Clarksville with an up-close look at more pieces used in the film, including set elements, original props and prosthetics that brought the film’s wholly original storytelling to life.
“Sinners” was written, directed and produced by Ryan Coogler, and also produced by Zinzi Coogler and Sev Ohanian. The movie, released on April 18, 2025, explores Black culture and the Blues through the lens of a Southern Gothic thriller.
The story is set in 1932 Mississippi and stars Michael B. Jordan as two twin brothers, Smoke and Stack, who, after chasing success in the North, return to Clarksdale, Mississippi, to open a juke joint and revive the soul and spirit of their hometown. As the town embraces a new avenue for artistic expression, culture, and community, a dark force lingers in the shadows and threatens the foundation of a community whose strength is tested by the evils of humanity.
