Journalist makes Tottenham transfer claim, but Spurs star calls it fake news
A senior Tottenham Hotspur striker has been quick to dismiss a claim made by a journalist regarding his future.
While the focus at Tottenham now is on who will replace Thomas Frank long-term, Spurs fans will expect any new incoming manager to be backed in the summer after a quiet January window for the club.
The squad looks in need of some big changes, and reports indicate that Tottenham are planning a major squad rebuild for the summer.
One would assume that would also involve several exits, with reports indicating that Richarlison could be on his way out of the North London club in the summer.
Richarlison dismisses journalist’s Tottenham transfer claim
Journalist Bruno Andrade has now claimed that Saudi Arabia would be the Tottenham striker’s preferred destination if he is to leave Hotspur Way.
Andrade said (via Sport Witness): “That surprised me a bit. Right now, Saudi Arabia is clearly Richarlison’s priority. On one side, Tottenham accept the sale. On the other hand, Richarlison also accepts leaving, as long as around €25m is paid. That is the market value. Anyone who wants Richarlison needs to pay that.”
However, the Tottenham striker was quick to take to social media to dismiss the claim.
Richarlison wrote on his Instagram stories about Andrade: “This guy has been spreading fake news for two years, saying I’m leaving Tottenham. First, you should check the facts before releasing them to the media. I tried sending messages to ask him to stop, but he still continues.”

However, Andrade is not the only journalist who is talking up the possibility of the 28-year-old exiting Spurs in the summer.
It has been reported by other sources that Tottenham and Richarlison have agreed to go their separate ways at the end of this season, with the striker’s current deal running out in 2027.
It was even claimed recently by ESPN Brazil that Flamengo are ready to pay €30m (£26m) to secure the Spurs man’s services in the summer.
