Whoops: Keith Ellison’s words on asylum seekers come back to bite him
Keith Ellison, the far-left attorney general in Minnesota who actively has worked against the enforcement of national border and immigration law, suddenly has admitted, on the record, that those aliens who are seeking “asylum” have literally no reason to come to the United States.
He tried to walk that back but the words already were there.
It came as Ellison, who has been an advocate for all kinds of opposition to enforcement of the law by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, an agency which recently had a huge enforcement surge in Ellison’s own state of Minnesota, was being questioned in Congress.
It happened during questioning from Sen. Bernie Moreno, R-Ohio.
Moreno asked Ellison, who repeatedly has demanded more and more illegal alien trafficking into the United States, whether he considers Mexico and Canada are “safe countries.”
“Generally, I do,” Ellison admitted.
“So then somebody seeking asylum, could certainly be safe in Canada and Mexico, no?” Moreno said.
Ellison stuttered, seeing the chasm he’d opened undermining Democrats’ demands for asylum-for-all practices in the U.S.
“Now, so like, if somebody, we we…” he said.
Extraordinary exchange
MORENO: “Mexico and Canada, do you consider those to be safe countries?”
ELLISON: “Generally I do.”

Ellison suddenly realizes what’s happening and can’t adjust his spin fast enough. They just want illegal immigrants here on US soil. https://t.co/m1KhRoWnKk

Commentary at Twitchy went into a no-holds-barred mode.
“Keith Ellison really comes across as a bad man, unless of course you’re a communist, Antifa member, or an illegal alien. And ironically, these are the only people who consistently vote for Democrats, which is probably why he wants to protect them. This exchange is brilliant on so many levels, and not because of Ellison. Watch him realize he’s said the wrong things about Canada and Mexico … this is great.”
It continued, “Ellison knows that someone seeking asylum is supposed to stop and seek asylum in the first safe country they come to. So why do they continue on through Canada and Mexico to America if they’re simply seeking asylum? And heck, Ellison himself says both countries safe … Then he realizes what he said, but it’s too late at that point. Far too late.”
What asylum seekers can do in the United States they cannot in other countries is merge into the Democrat Party and provide support for leftists to maintain control of various parts of the American government.
