‘Face planted on my right side’: Jeanine Pirro sues town after tripping on ‘protrusion’ in crosswalk
Jeanine Pirro, the former judge and Fox News television personality who was appointed to the post of U.S. attorney by President Donald Trump, has filed a lawsuit against her upstate New York town of Rye after she tripped on a block of wood that had been left embedded in a crosswalk by a repair crew.

According to a Daily Mail report, the 74-year-old fell in August and still experiences “pain and suffering,” her lawyers said.
The report explained it was a piece of plywood that was left embedded in a walkway laid by Con Edison workers, along with a steel plate meant to cover an underground gas main.
Pirro tripped over the block, according to statement given to police at the time.
“Next thing I know I am face planted on my right side,” she said. “I had blood on my lips and my hands (my glasses were broken) – open scrape on my knee. After a few minutes, I walked back into the street and saw a protrusion sticking out of gravel where I fell.”
The filing states, “As a result of defendants’ negligence, Ms. Pirro sustained serious personal injuries, including but not limited to bruises and contusions to the head, eye, face, and shoulder areas, together with pain, discomfort, and limitation of movement.”
Con Ed also is a defendant.
The Daily Mail said, “Pirro blamed the ‘protrusion sticking out of gravel’ and recalled how two random men had to rush to her aid when she didn’t get back to her feet immediately.”
She was confirmed as U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia on August 2, just days before the alleged incident, the report said.
