Tottenham decide between interim or permanent manager solution after Thomas Frank sacking
Tottenham Hotspur want a new manager in place as soon as possible, but it remained unclear whether this would be on a temporary or permanent basis – until now.
Tottenham Hotspur have a quiet few days without any fixtures to fulfil, but the club’s off-the-pitch operation is a very different story.
Spurs are desperate to find a new manager ahead of the North London derby a week on Sunday, after Thomas Frank was fired from his role.
There have been a number of names linked with the job, and in recent news, it was revealed that Tottenham have shortlisted Marco Rose and Edin Terzic.
Tottenham are looking for an interim manager
Some of the managers being linked with Spurs would be unlikely to join unless it was on a permanent, long-term contract. This is certainly true of Robbie Keane, as the Irishman is not interested in becoming the Tottenham boss if it is only until the summer.
However, a new update from Matt Law has claimed Spurs are only interested in hiring an interim manager at this point and hope to have one appointed by Monday.
The club will then assess their options in the summer, when there is more likely to be a wider pool of candidates available.
Spurs may be waiting for Mauricio Pochettino
It is a known fact that Tottenham have been in contact with Mauricio Pochettino, but the Argentine is not going to leave the US national team directly before the World Cup.
Therefore, Spurs could attempt to lure him back to North London once the summer tournament has reached its conclusion.
There are already managers with good levels of experience available to Tottenham. This feels like a key indicator that the only reason for the club to delay a permanent appointment is so they can bring Pochettino back for a reunion, which could get the supporters on side again.
