Junior assistant arrested for drawing Rs 2.38cr by inflating pay bills
A junior assistant in Angul district, Odisha, has been arrested for allegedly siphoning off lakhs of rupees monthly by forging his pay bills. Subrat Kumar Behera fraudulently pocketed between Rs 4 lakh and Rs 14 lakh per month, misappropriating a staggering Rs 2.38 crore between 2017 and 2025. His arrest followed an internal audit that flagged irregularities, revealing disproportionate assets.
