Savannah Guthrie Shares Heartbreaking Message in New Social Media Post
Savannah Guthrie issued a new public message Thursday as her mother Nancy remains missing nearly two weeks after she was last seen at her Tucson, Arizona home.
In a post on Instagram, the Today co-host shared home video footage of Nancy, 84, when she was younger, playing with her children, including Savannah.
'We will never give up'
The clip, which is set to the song “May You Find a Light” by The Brilliance, ends with an old family portrait of Nancy and her three children, Savannah, Annie and Camron.
"Our lovely mom. ???? We will never give up on her. Thank you for your prayers and hope," Savannah captioned the post.
The comments section of the post contain prayers and well-wishes from the general public, including some of Savannah's media colleagues.
Thursday marks the 12th day of the search for the missing woman.
Investigation ongoing
Nancy Guthrie was last seen on the evening of Jan. 31. When she failed to show up at a friend's house for a virtual church service the following day, authorities were contacted.
Since then, both FBI and local investigators have handled thousands of tips and multiple ransom notes in the suspected kidnapping. This week, the FBI also released surveillance camera images of a potential armed suspect outside Nancy Guthrie's home.
The Pima County Sheriff's Department also detained a local man for questioning following a traffic stop Tuesday night, but the man was later released.
Possible DNA evidence recovered
On Wednesday, the New York Post reported on the discovery of a black glove on the side of the road, roughly a mile and a half away from Nancy Guthrie’s home.
The glove, which police say resembles the ones the suspect was wearing in the captured surveillance video, could possibly contain DNA, though it will take time for testing to draw any conclusions.
In the meantime, authorities continue to work, and the Guthrie family continues to wait.
