THE LOWDOWN
We will be looking to return to winning ways this weekend following Tuesday night’s frustrating Edinburgh Derby defeat, as substitute Tomas Magnusson netted a late winner at Tynecastle Park following a close-fought contest between the two sides.
The result came off the back of two positive home results to start the month, taking four points from a possible six, as we were held to a goalless draw by Rangers before defeating Dundee United 3-2 last Wednesday.
We currently sit fifth in the William Hill Premiership on 39 points, with seven matches to play before the split.
TEAM NEWS
Munashe Garananga was withdrawn at Tynecastle Park after sustaining an injury from a heavy collision. The defender will be assessed ahead of Saturday’s match.
Jamie McGrath, Warren O’Hora and Josh Campbell all returned to the matchday squad against Hearts after returning from injury, with McGrath and O’Hora brought on as substitutes.
Grant Hanley, Jordan Obita, Joe Newell, Josh Mulligan and Chris Cadden all missed out on Tuesday night.
Head Coach David Gray will provide a full squad update to the press on Friday afternoon at HTC.
THE VISITORS
Stephen Robinson's side have endured a tricky spell of results since the turn of the year - with three consecutives 2-0 defeats to Motherwell, Falkirk, and 10-man Hearts kicking off 2026, before Livingston were squeezed past in the Scottish Cup.
Frustrating draws to Livi and Dundee followed, though a late win over Hearts and another Scottish Cup victory - this time against Airdrieonians - momentarily lifted the mood in Paisley; before another defeat befell St Mirren on Wednesday night, as Kilmarnock striker Tyreece John-Jules bagged a hat-trick in his side's dramatic 4-3 win at Rugby Park over the Buddies.
Our most recent clash against St Mirren took place in early November, as the Hibees romped to a 3-0 away win at St Mirren Park.
Mulligan fired in the opener on 24 minutes after running onto a smart McGrath low cross, with Chris Cadden doubling our advantage with a neat finish after the break, before a deflected Miguel Chaiwa strike would wrap up the victory on 80 minutes.
