Drone strike on Sudan mosque kills three children
A drone strike on a mosque in Sudan’s North Kordofan killed three children during Quran lessons, raising fresh concerns over civilian safety.
Three children were killed and 13 others injured after a drone strike hit a mosque in North Kordofan state while children were studying Quran.
Sudan’s Doctors Network blamed the attack on Rapid Support Forces, saying the mosque building was directly targeted during the strike.
The group noted similar attacks have previously struck religious sites, including a church in Khartoum and another mosque in El Fasher.
Medical officials warned that repeated attacks on civilian and religious locations are having devastating impacts on children and local communities.
The incident has intensified fears over civilian safety as violence continues across conflict-hit regions of Sudan.
North Kordofan and other central Sudanese regions have seen prolonged armed conflict, with repeated attacks worsening humanitarian and security conditions for civilians.
Aid groups warn that without urgent efforts to curb violence, civilian casualties , especially among children are likely to rise across Sudan’s conflict zones.
