Trump tells Netanyahu U.S. talks with Iran must continue amid Israeli push for expansion
President Donald Trump said talks with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ended without agreement but stressed continuing negotiations with Iran remains essential.
Trump said after meeting Netanyahu at the White House that discussions were positive but produced no definitive outcome on key regional issues.
Posting on Truth Social, Trump said he insisted negotiations with Iran should continue to see whether a workable agreement could still be reached.
Trump also said he and Netanyahu discussed the Gaza situation, while reiterating hopes for broader peace across the Middle East region.
Netanyahu traveled to Washington mainly to discuss Iran-related negotiations, saying Israel’s security concerns remain central in diplomatic efforts.
The meeting followed renewed US-Iran nuclear talks in Oman after previous negotiations collapsed amid regional conflict and military escalation last year.
Despite earlier military strikes and tensions, Washington and Tehran recently resumed talks, with further negotiations expected to continue in the coming days.
