Germany transfers 47 Afghans from Pakistan to Berlin
German authorities transferred 47 Afghan nationals from Pakistan to Berlin after completing migration procedures under a previously approved humanitarian admission program this week.
German officials confirmed that the group of Afghan citizens, who had been staying in Pakistan, arrived in Germany after their relocation process was finalized.
According to Germany’s Interior Ministry, the transfer was conducted under an admission mechanism previously created to receive certain Afghan nationals facing risk.
Thousands of Afghans relocated to Pakistan after the Taliban takeover in 2021 while awaiting resettlement decisions from European countries and other international partners.
Delays in processing migration cases have left many Afghan families stranded for months, facing visa uncertainties, financial hardship, and limited access to employment or education.
The relocated individuals reportedly spent a long period in Pakistan awaiting final approval and travel documents before being allowed to travel to Germany.
Authorities said the arrivals reached Berlin after completing all administrative and security screenings required under German immigration regulations.
Although Germany earlier announced suspension of the broader relocation program, officials confirmed some previously registered cases are still being processed individually.
The latest relocation shows that despite restrictions, limited humanitarian transfers of vulnerable Afghan nationals to European countries continue on a case-by-case basis.
