Justin Baldoni's Lawyer Says Blake Lively Settlement Talk Was 'Unsuccessful,' Case Will Likely Go to Trial
Justin Baldoni‘s lawyer is speaking out after the It Ends With Us actor/director’s day in court with Blake Lively.
The two appeared in court face-to-face for the first time on Wednesday (February 11) in New York City for a private conference with Magistrate Judge Sarah L. Cave to see whether they could reach an agreement without going to trial
While Justin, 41, attended the court-mandated conference with wife Emily, Blake, 38, was solo.
As they left the courthouse, Justin‘s lawyer Bryan Freedman told Deadline that the settlement discussion was “unsuccessful.”
Keep reading to find out more…Freedman noted that “there’s always a chance” of a settlement, but added that he didn’t know whether Justin and Blake would resume talks about a potential pretrial deal.
When asked more about the trial, which is set to begin on May 18, Freedman said he is “looking forward to it.”
If you didn’t know, Justin‘s $400 million defamation and extortion lawsuit against Blake, his co-star on the infamous film, was ended last year. Previously, the case was dismissed by the judge.
Blake‘s lawsuit alleging sexual harassment and retaliation against Justin remains active.
