To the editor: Voting decline caused by quarreling
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the total citizen voting age population today is approximately 237 million Americans. In the 2024 presidential election, approximately three-quarters of them were registered to vote and less than two-thirds actually voted. That means a large number of Americans either aren’t registered or don’t care enough to exercise the privilege and duty that our ancestors fought so hard for, and that number is growing. In my opinion, voting is the basics of responsible citizenship.
