“Pack the Palace” Meet Slated for March 6 at BWA
The Arkansas gymnastics program has its sights set on history for the team’s last home meet on March 6, as the team hosts No. 1 Oklahoma and is pushing to break the NCAA gymnastics attendance record.
With Bud Walton Arena now the Gymbacks’ permanent home, Arkansas has excelled there. Five of the team’s top 10 home high scores came at The Palace, including the program record team score of 198.100, set on March 13, 2024.
The fans have shown up for gymnastics at BWA as well, with 7,000+ present nine times dating back to 2022 and 10,000+ in attendance two times. Arkansas’ current attendance high is 11,031, set on Feb. 3, 2023. In the Gymbacks’ first full season at Bud in 2025, Arkansas averaged 7,915 fans per meet, a new single season high and top 10 in the nation.
Bud Walton is a unique gymnastics venue with its large capacity of over 19,000. The Gymbacks are challenging fans to “Pack The Palace” on March 6 and break the current NCAA attendance record, which was set at the University of Utah with 16,019 at Salt Lake City’s Huntsman Center on March 6, 2015.
The meet will have no shortage of excitement as the defending national champion Sooners come to town, is the team’s Senior Night, and has been tabbed a White Out.
“This meet provides a chance for Razorback fans to make history with us,” head coach Jordyn Wieber said. “Bud Walton Arena is quickly becoming one of the best environments in college gymnastics. The energy is not only felt by our team, but by visiting programs as well. Single meet tickets for Pack the Palace on March 6 are currently on sale online or by phone via Razorback Ticket Center, starting at $12 for youth and $17 for adults. Groups of 10 or more can receive a discounted ticket rate by calling the Razorback Ticket Center at (800) 982-4647.
