Chili's Is Doing It Really Big for National Margarita Day
Apparently, National Margarita Day does not coincide with Cinco de Mayo. Rather, it comes less than a week after Valentine's Day, landing on Feb. 22. Perhaps it's to give those of us experiencing a gruelingly cold winter a taste of the summertime.
For Valentine's Day, LongHorn Steakhouse swung big with its fashionable steak commitment rings. For National Margarita Day, Chili's is launching an entire line of clothing, in addition to three special margaritas.
Chili's Launches Margarita of the Month Club
In a press release, Chili's announced it's starting a Margarita of the Month Club, specifically for fans of its monthly special margaritas. Anyone can join the club, and once inducted, members can "track their monthly margaritas" and get access to an exclusive line of merch.
The clothes give sporty, pastel, Vineyard Vines-vibes, with cabana shirts, polos, and baseball hats. Each order also includes a free club field book for members to record their Margaritas of the Month.
“The Margarita of the Month Club was born when we sawa group of diehards who come in every month to try each new marg,” said George Felix, Chili’s Chief Marketing Officer.
Chili's Has Three New Margaritas for National Margarita Day
On Feb. 22, Chili's will celebrate National Margarita Day with three special margs.
First, there's the $5 Tequila Classic: a new formulation of the traditional margarita, made with Jose Cuervo tequila, triple sec, and Chili's house-made sour mix.
Then, there's the StrawEddy Margarita of the Month — one that club members will surely recognize. This one mixes Lunazul tequila with Deep Eddy lemon vodka, strawberry puree, and the house-made sour mix. Vodka in a margarita, though? Sounds intriguing.
Lastly, there's the $7 Patrón Frozen Marg, made with premium Patrón tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and agave. No sour mix! Woo!
Chili's diehards don't have to wait until National Margarita Day to join the club. Applications are officially open.
