‘Hamilton’ is returning to Chicago. Here’s how to get lottery tickets
Don’t throw away your shot, Hamilfans: The Tony Award-winning Broadway musical is returning to Chicago and so is the $10 digital lottery.
Producer Jeffrey Seller and Broadway In Chicago announced Wednesday that the digital lottery will open next week. The show’s first performance is March 4 at the CIBC Theatre, 18 W. Monroe St. Forty tickets will be available for every performance for $10 each. Single ticket prices normally range from $63-$208.
The lottery will first open at 10 a.m. Feb. 20, and will close at 12 p.m. on Feb. 26 for tickets to performances March 4-8. Subsequent digital lotteries will begin each Friday and close the following Thursday for the upcoming week’s performances. The lottery will open at 10 a.m. every Friday and will close for entry at 12 p.m. the following Thursday prior to the following week’s performances. “Hamilton” is currently scheduled to wrap in Chicago on April 26.
Fans need to use the “Hamilton” mobile app in order to enter the lottery. Winners will be notified between 1 and 3 p.m. every Thursday for the upcoming week’s performances via email and mobile push notification. Winners will have two hours to claim and pay for their tickets.
The principal cast of the “Hamilton” national tour includes Tyler Fauntleroy as Alexander Hamilton and Jimmie “J.J.” Jeter as Aaron Burr. Fauntleroy previously played the roles of Philip and Hamilton on regional tours; Jeter, who appeared in the TV series “The Chi,” was a member of Australia’s first-ever Hamilton production. Rounding out the cast is Matt Bittner as King George; Christian Magby as Thomas Jefferson; Marja Harmon as Angelica Schuyler; Lily Soto as Peggy Schuyler/Maria Reynolds; and Lauren Mariasoosay as Eliza Hamilton.
