Who Are James Van Der Beek's Wife & Kids? Late Actor Leaves Behind Wife Kimberly & 6 Children

James Van Der Beek sadly passed away on Wednesday (February 11) following a battle with colorectal cancer.

The beloved late actor was 48 years old, and is survived by his wife Kimberly and their six children, ranging in ages four to 15 years old.

James and Kimberly were married in August 2010 in a small ceremony in Israel, and welcomed their first child together that same year.

They have four daughters – Olivia, 15, Annabel, 12, Emilia, 9, and Gwendolyn, 7, as well as two sons – Joshua, 13, and Jeremiah, 4.

Throughout the years, they have hit the red carpet with some of their children, and often shared fun family photos on social media, including a family Halloween pic back in October 2025.

In September of last year, while James had to drop out of the Dawson’s Creek reunion and stage reading, his wife and children still attended and joined the rest of the cast on stage to sing the show’s theme song “I Don’t Want to Wait” by Paula Cole.
