Preliminary probe must before FIR in cases of political nature: OHRC to cops
Odisha Human Rights Commission has directed the state police to conduct preliminary inquiries before filing FIRs in politically motivated complaints. This follows a BJD spokesperson's plea after being falsely implicated. The commission stressed that such scrutiny prevents harassment of innocent individuals and misuse of criminal law for political revenge.
