Megan’s heading to Windsor after Andrew moves out
Watching Andrew Mountbatten’s royal status unravel over his Epstein links has been akin to watching an HBO drama – and here comes another twist.
Just one week after the disgraced prince quit Royal Lodge in Windsor, the historic countryside town is rolling out the red carpet for an all-too-familiar name.
Meet Megan – she’s ‘dog-friendly’, ‘loves to party’, and enjoys cooking ‘indulgent desserts’ and ‘fluffy pancakes’ for her guests.
But the announcement has left Windsor residents scratching their heads.
After all, they are all too familiar with a certain Meghan. Prince Harry’s wife – the Hollywood actor and Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle – was once a regular around the castle-side neighbourhood.
And the former Suits star turned podcaster didn’t always enjoy a happy marriage with the Berkshire bunch.

Like her uncle-in-law, she left her own Windsor pad – £2.4million Frogmore Cottage – under controversial circumstances back in 2023.
And given Markle’s floundering efforts to reinvent herself as a lifestyle guru – her Netflix series ‘With Love, Meghan’ was described as ‘toe-curvingly unlovable’ – locals could be forgiven for turning their noses up at promises of the American’s home-cooking.
But the Windsor luvvies needn’t dust off their pitchforks just yet. Markle will be remaining in California for the foreseeable.
That’s because this Megan’s not a maligned former Royal, but a restaurant. Megan’s by the Crown has announced it will come to Windsor on Friday, February 13.
The town’s newest eatery offers diners a ‘magical, fairy-lit home’ serving mezzes and kebabs from its Eastern Mediterranean menu.
The people of Windsor will be able to blast through Megan’s famous bottomless brunch and stumble through the cobbled streets of the historic town after the grand opening on February 13.
‘Did we also mention that we love to party? Our sharing party boards, raised above the table, are seriously impressive & we’d love to host you for your next special occasion,’ they wrote online.
The company added that ‘the new restaurant offers the perfect place to meet, unwind and enjoy great food in great company — just moments from Windsor’s iconic sights.’
Perhaps Andrew can take some solace from the news that Markle hasn’t usurped his Royal seat.
He’ll need something to cheer him up after moving out of his 30-room mansion and into a ‘modest’ five-bed home.
The embattled Duke switched to the his brother’s Sandringham hideout last week, but not before squeezing in some last-minute horse-riding jaunts around the Windsor grounds.
Andrew, was offered Frogmore Cottage which has been vacant since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle vacated the property.
But he reportedly refused as it was ‘not grand enough for a prince’.
What do we know about Marsh Farm?
Images show the building to be a red-brick cottage on the royal estate in Norfolk.
It contains a kitchen and two reception rooms, including outbuildings and stables.
The home also has access to and is surrounded by Sandringham Estate, which covers 20,000 acres in Norfolk.
Andrew is reportedly still fighting to retain his staff. Meanwhile it is unclear what will happen to Sarah Ferguson who has continued to live at Royal Lodge.
Builders have been pictured at Marsh Farm, with reports of pest control also working on the grounds.
The latest Epstein files drop showed Andrew shows him leaning over what appears to be a young woman lying on the floor.
Prime Minister Keir Starmer has urged Mountbatten-Windsor to testify before a congressional committee in the US over his dealings with Epstein.
Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing.
