Amazon Pharmacy’s same-day prescription delivery service will add two more states, Idaho and Massachusetts, and nearly 2,000 more communities over the next year, the company said in a Wednesday (Feb. 11) press release.
With this expansion, Amazon Pharmacy will offer same-day prescription delivery in nearly 4,500 U.S. cities and towns by the end of 2026, according to the release.
Amazon Pharmacy offers delivery options other than same-day delivery in all 50 states and Washington, D.C., per the release.
“By combining our pharmacy expertise with our logistics network, we’re removing critical barriers and helping patients start treatment faster, setting a new standard for accessible, digital-forward pharmacy care,” John Love, vice president of Amazon Pharmacy, said in the release.
Another new offering is Amazon One Medical’s Health Insights, a beta feature that helps eligible members better understand their routine bloodwork results by delivering personalized analysis and evidence-based recommendations, according to a Tuesday (Feb. 10) press release.
Developed in partnership with Lifeforce, a longevity medicine platform, Health Insights is designed to interpret health data for members so they can have more meaningful conversations with their care team at One Medical, which is Amazon’s membership-based primary care organization, according to the release. All lab results are still reviewed by One Medical providers, who will later discuss the results with the patient.
Delivered through the One Medical app and integrated with the Health AI conversational agent, Health Insights provides a personal wellness score, an analysis of individual biomarkers, lifestyle recommendations and scientific references that support each recommendation, per the release.
“Health Insights brings clarity to complex health data and gives providers another way to help our members understand what their lab results mean, so together, they can focus on what matters most: personalized care and better health outcomes,” Amazon One Medical Chief Medical Officer Andrew Diamond said in the release.
PYMNTS reported in January 2025 that Amazon has been using its technological reach and consumer base to compete in the healthcare sector.
In June, Amazon reorganized its health business to “move faster and continue to innovate effectively.”
The company added the AI assistant to the One Medical app in January, saying the agentic AI tool will help with answering health questions, scheduling appointments, managing medications and more.
