Missing Woman, 24, Located After Family Hear Her Pleading 'Please Don't Shoot Me' in Final Call

A 24-year-old Wisconsin woman has been located five days after she went missing and was heard pleading for her life on a final phone call to her family.

On Monday (February 9), the Marinette Police Department confirmed in an updated news release that Gabriella Cartagena had been “located.”

The original release stated that Cartagena was reported missing on Thursday (February 5) after last being seen the day prior.

“The Marinette Police Department, along with other local authorities, initiated an extensive search to locate Gabriella Cartagena. The investigation led to the belief that Gabriella was in the area of Red Arrow Park in the City of Marinette immediately prior to her disappearance,” the statement read.

Additionally, the release stated, “There is currently a person of interest in custody, and the name of that individual is being withheld at this time.

The updated release stated that “More information will be released as soon as possible.”

However, authorities have not yet provided any further information, including confirming if Cartagena had been found dead or alive.

On Friday (February 6), the Marinette Police Department shared a missing person alert on Facebook, identifying Cartagena as someone who was “considered as involuntarily missing.”

According to reporting by WBAY, Cartagena‘s family said that she was last seen with a man they identified as Robert Chilcote. They said that the pair “appeared normal” and were headed to the grocery store on Wednesday.

However, family said that they received a final call from Cartagena, in which she was heard pleading, “Please don’t shoot me. I’m sorry.”

An arrest report issued by the Wright County Sheriff’s Office lists 29-year-old Robert Alan Chilcote of Porterfield, Wisc. as having been arrested on February 5 in Otsego, Minn. He was listed as arrested on “a charge of fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle.”

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to Just Jared that Chilcote was also being held “on a Fugitive from Justice Warrant out of the State of Wisconsin” but directed any questions about the warrant to authorities in Marinette.

WBAY reported that Chilcote was apprehended after leading police on a chase that reached speeds of approximately 100 miles per hour. Am AR-15 “with an inserted magazine” was in the car with him when police were able to detain him.

It is unclear if he is the person of interest that was referenced by the Marinette Police Department. However, WBAY noted that he has not been charged in relation to Cartagena‘s disappearance.
