Why Tottenham players may not have been told directly about Thomas Frank sacking
Tottenham Hotspur may not have informed their players about Thomas Frank’s sacking directly, and there is a key reason why.
With the way Tottenham Hotspur have performed on the pitch, especially in the Premier League, it felt like it was only a matter of time before Thomas Frank was sacked.
On Wednesday morning, that decision was confirmed by Tottenham themselves, with Frank leaving after just eight months in the Spurs dugout.
The Dane had managed an impressive Champions League run, which saw him earn a top-four spot. But in the Premier League, Frank’s side never seemed to hit top gear, as he managed just 29 points from 26 games and left Spurs dangerously close to the relegation places.

Tottenham give players five days off ahead of Arsenal clash
Matt Law, writing in the Telegraph, has now revealed that the Tottenham players have been given five days off ahead of the North London Derby.
Spurs are not back in action for another ten days when they welcome Arsenal to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Gunners, meanwhile, have three fixtures between now and then.

Law says this suggests that the news of Frank’s dismissal is unlikely to have been communicated directly to the Tottenham squad before it was made public. After all, they would not have been at Hotspur Way today.
Tottenham will be looking to find a replacement for Frank before that Arsenal clash as they focus on salvaging an already dismal campaign.
Tottenham managerial shake-up explained after Thomas Frank exit
Matt Law also revealed that the decision to part ways with Thomas Frank was recommended to the Lewis family by CEO Vinai Venkatesham and Johan Lange.
It is understood that Spurs saw Frank’s position as untenable, and as such, a decision was made following the 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United on 10 February.
It remains to be seen whether it is a clean sweep of the entire coaching staff or whether some of Frank’s backroom staff will retain their spot in interim roles.
