JUST IN: Activity Detected in Nancy Guthrie Bitcoin Ransom Account Per TMZ Founder (VIDEO)
Activity has reportedly been detected in a Bitcoin account linked to ransom demands for 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie, mother of NBC’s “Today” show anchor Savannah Guthrie, who is believed to have been abducted on January 31.
Guthrie was taken from her Pima County, Arizona home late last month. Her captors had demanded a $6 million ransom in Bitcoin to be paid by Monday, February 9.
TMZ founder Harvey Levin recently shared that he received a note from Guthrie’s kidnappers, describing the 84-year-old as ” alive but scared.”
Still, no proof of life has been offered, and no suspects have been identified.
As The Gateway Pundit reported on Monday, Savannah Guthrie posted an emotional plea before the 7 pm ET deadline for $6 million passed.
“We believe our mom is still out there. We need your help,” Guthrie said in a new Instagram video on Monday.
“She was taken, and we don’t know where, and we need your help. So I’m coming on just to ask you, not just for your prayers, but no matter where you are, even if you’re far from Tucson, if you see anything, you hear anything, if there’s anything at all that seems strange to you, that you report to law enforcement.”
Now, Harvey Levin says “activity” has been found on the Bitcoin account tied to the ransom demands, suggesting the ransom may have been paid.
During an appearance on CNN at 7:25 pm ET, Levin said the activity was detected “about 12 minutes ago.” However, he could not specify what activity he saw.
“That’s what I can’t talk about. There are reasons I can’t, but all I can say is there is now activity in that Bitcoin account,” he added, noting that he believes it only shows money going into the account.
