Marc Anthony Hints the Beckham Family Feud Isn’t What It Seems: 'It’s Hardly the Truth'
For any fan invested in the Beckham family feud, there is one person who hasn’t offered their opinion until now.
Marc Anthony has been dragged into the drama, thanks to that alleged first wedding dance snafu. He broke his silence in a February 9 interview with The Hollywood Reporter, and he sounded reluctant to participate in the taking sides debate.
“I have nothing to say about what’s happening with the family,” Anthony replied when asked about the feud. “They’re a wonderful, wonderful family. I’ve known them since before the kids were born. I’m godfather to Cruz. I’m really close to the family. But I have nothing to say about what happened there.”
The 57-year-old musician also noted that “it’s extremely unfortunate how it’s playing out” because what is being reported is “hardly the truth.” It might be a situation of the Beckham family’s side, Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz’s side, and the truth resting somewhere in between.
To refresh your memory on how the “Vivir Mi Vida” singer plays into the rift, he decided to serenade Brooklyn and Nicola with a “romantic love song” at their 2022 wedding. According to the eldest Beckham son’s January 19 Instagram Stories, things went awry quickly.
“My mum was waiting to dance with me instead,” Brooklyn claimed. “She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life.”
A source provided People with another angle on the story in May 2025, recalling that Brooklyn stepped onto the stage, expecting Anthony to call over his bride. Instead, he allegedly announced, “The most beautiful woman in the room tonight, come on up … Victoria Beckham!”
“It was such a jaw-dropping moment that it left the whole room in absolute shock — you could hear a pin drop,” a second insider added.
But other guests downplayed the moment, saying that “everyone had a great time.”
There are many different versions of the events that occurred on Brooklyn and Nicola’s wedding day, but there seems to be one person who is really ready for the drama to end — Nicola’s dad, Nelson Peltz.
At the WSJ Invest Live event on February 3, he advised, “My advice is to stay the hell out of the press.”
