Juventus wait for 32m boost as Nico Gonzalez closer to permanent Atletico move
Only nine more La Liga appearances separate Juventus loanee Nico Gonzalez from a permanent move to Atletico Madrid.
Argentina international Nico Gonzalez is edging closer to joining Atletico Madrid on a permanent deal.
When will Nico Gonzalez join Atletico Madrid permanently?
The 27-year-old moved to the Wanda Metropolitano last summer on a €1m loan deal with an option to buy for 32m.
As reported by Calciomercato.com, Atletico’s option to buy becomes mandatory if Nico makes at least 60% appearances in La Liga, for 45 minutes each.
Nico has already played at least 45 minutes in 12 La Liga matches, so he has nine more to complete before joining the Colchoneros permanently.
Juventus’ changes in attack
Overall, Nico Gonzalez has scored one goal in 25 appearances with Atletico Madrid this season.
Nico Gonzalez only spent one season at Juventus, scoring five goals and providing four assists in 40 appearances during the 2024-25 campaign.
Juventus signed Edon Zhegrova and Lois Openda as attacking reinforcements on deadline day last summer and welcomed Jeremie Boga from OGC Nice in the January transfer window.
