Wayne Rooney makes worrying 10-year claim about Thomas Frank at Tottenham
Wayne Rooney has revealed what he has noticed about Thomas Frank since the Danish coach took over as Tottenham’s head coach last summer.
There has been consistent speculation over Frank’s future at Spurs over the last few months.
In fact, some may find it extremely surprising that he is still at the helm at Tottenham Hotspur, given that the Lilywhites are hovering so close to the relegation zone two-thirds of the way into the season.
Frank has the worst record of any permanent manager to have managed any of the ‘big six’ in the Premier League, with the 52-year-old struggling to turn things around at N17.

Wayne Rooney believes that the pressure of managing a club of Tottenham’s size and the team’s struggles are taking their toll on Frank.
The Man United legend admitted that the 52-year-old looks ‘tired’ and that he appears to have aged a lot in a very short duration.
Reacting to Cristian Romero’s latest red card, Rooney said on his BBC Podcast: “All that’s going to do is bring more pressure on Thomas Frank. I feel for Frank because he looks tired – he looks like he’s aged 10 years. That’s what that Tottenham job has done to him in a short period of time.
“I hope they stick with him because he’s fantastic manager, but it’s going be very difficult for them to do that. And you don’t need your captain going out getting sent off on a regular basis or being as vocal as he was this week.”
Rooney says Cristian Romero has failed to walk the talk
The 40-year-old admitted that Romero may have been a little unlucky with his latest sending off.
However, the pundit suggested that the Argentine needed to keep his head after his recent comments, suggesting that the Tottenham captain fails to back up his words on the pitch.
Rooney added about Romero’s red card against Man United: “I can see why it’s been given, but it’s a little bit harsh. Sometimes you lose your head at times. And I think he’s done that throughout his time at Tottenham.
“What doesn’t help is the comments in the week before about the lack of players Tottenham have. He clearly speaks his mind as well. But unfortunately, you’ve got to go and back that up with performances when you’re vocal like that – and I don’t think he’s done that.”
