MAGA lawmaker jeered as he flips out over 'unspeakable depravities' of Super Bowl show
A MAGA congressman faced mockery after publicly calling for an investigation into Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime performance, which he described as “explicit and indecent content.”
The Puerto Rican pop superstar's performance Sunday was widely hailed as a joyous celebration of Latin American culture, with celebrity cameos and subtle references to Caribbean traditions and history, but Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) wrote a letter to the House Energy and Commerce Committee describing the elaborate sets and choreography as a possible violation of federal broadcasting laws.
“The Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show was pure smut, brazenly aired on national television for every American family to witness. Children were forced to endure explicit displays of gay sexual acts, women gyrating provocatively, and Bad Bunny shamelessly grabbing his crotch while dry-humping the air,” Ogles posted on X.
“And if that weren’t outrageous enough, the performance’s lyrics openly glorified sodomy and countless other unspeakable depravities. These flagrant, indecent acts are illegal to be displayed on public airways.”
The Grammy-winning singer has been an outspoken critic of President Donald Trump and his immigration crackdown, and his the overarching message in his performance – "the only thing more powerful than hate is love " – carried a strong political subtext, but social media users agreed there was nothing pornographic about it.
"I must have missed the gay porn," said journalist Laura Bassett.
"Listen, I get how Bad Bunny made Andy Ogles think of sexytimes," agreed Bluesky user Desarrayed. "That man brought all the heat to his performance!"
"Andy Ogles was looking very hard for gay porn," agreed journalist and attorney Scott Horton. "He didn't find it. And he was very disappointed."
"Trump buffoon Andy Ogles (R-TN) calls for Congressional investigation into Bad Bunny, the halftime show, the NFL, and NBC regarding their prior knowledge and approval of what Ogles claims was a performance 'dominated by sexually explicit lyrical themes and suggestive choreography.," seethed Bluesky user leftnavyseal.
"Congressman Andy Ogles is tripling down on his insistence that seeing gay people in Bad Bunny’s show is gay porn," noted The Advocate's Christopher Wiggins. "Check his computer."
"My Spanish is not so good but did he say anything about grabbing girls by their genitals without their consent," wondered businessman Steven Slate.
"That was the least 'sexual' halftime shows in recent history," added attorney Andy Bloch. "But sure, let's waste time with a congressional inquiry about a 14-minute show instead of the many members of the Trump administration directly implicated in the Epstein files."
