How Tottenham’s Premier League fixtures compare with potential relegation rivals
Tottenham Hotspur find themselves in a Premier League relegation battle and their upcoming fixtures are not going to make things any easier.
No Tottenham Hotspur supporter wanted to see their team near the Premier League relegation zone for a second consecutive season. In fact, this was not expected to be the case either.
However, Spurs sit 15th in the Premier League table, just six points ahead of West Ham who trail in 18th place.
This means every single game matters and Thomas Frank needs to be picking up as many points as possible in order to steer clear of the drop.
With this in mind, here is a look at Tottenham’s next five fixtures, along with the upcoming matches their relegation rivals must fulfil.

Spurs have some winnable fixtures coming up
Tottenham have some tricky matches approaching and clashes with the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool sadly feel like inevitable defeats based on the season up to this point.
Despite this, fixtures against Newcastle and Crystal Palace are good opportunities to gather some points, while a cross-city trip to Craven Cottage surely demands at least a draw.
As bad as Spurs have been recently, a few draws have been recorded and at this point in their league campaign, every point makes a difference.
How these matches compare with Tottenham’s relegation rivals
Leeds are Tottenham’s closest competitors and they arguably have a tougher schedule, with three meetings with teams in the top five. This is good news for Spurs because it means even if they drop points, Daniel Farke’s team probably will too.
West Ham could struggle as well, with a home game against Bournemouth being the only of their next five fixtures which looks like it might end in a victory.
Things are a little more straightforward for Nottingham Forest, but they are still three points behind Tottenham and clashes with Liverpool and Manchester City will be difficult.
On the whole, it looks like Spurs could continue struggling to get results in the Premier League, but then again, their relegation rivals do not have things easy either.
It is not unreasonable to suggest that with some improvement, Frank could still lead his team to a mid-table finish, but only time will tell whether the club’s current fortunes will change.
