UNAMA Hosts Third Doha Process Private Sector Meeting in Kabul

UNAMA hosted the third Doha Process private sector meeting in Kabul, bringing officials and partners together to boost coordination and economic cooperation.

Officials from key economic and financial institutions joined UN agencies, diplomats, and regional representatives to discuss private sector growth, coordination, and transparency challenges.

The Doha Process, launched in 2023 under UN leadership, aims to maintain structured engagement with Afghan authorities on humanitarian, economic, and technical cooperation issues.

Kabul recently hosted another Doha Process meeting focused on counter-narcotics cooperation, showing continued international engagement on practical issues despite political complexities.

Participants stressed stronger cooperation among institutions and proposed solutions to improve economic inclusion, investment conditions, and transparency in Afghanistan’s private sector environment.

UNAMA has not yet issued an official statement, but Taliban officials said discussions centered on improving coordination mechanisms and supporting economic recovery efforts.

The meeting concluded with calls for continued dialogue between Afghan institutions and international partners to strengthen private sector development and economic stability.
