Weekend preview: Home doubleheader as Westfields and Corsham visit

Royal Wootton Bassett Town's Men's and Women's First Team sides both get to enjoy home advantage at the Gerard Buxton Sports Ground this weekend. On Saturday Jonny Aitkenhead's side host Westfields in the Hellenic League Premier Division (3pm kick off), with Bassett looking to make it four unbeaten against their opponents and to narrow the gap between the teams in the table. Then on Sunday Bassett face a derby against fellow South West Regional Women's Football League Division One North high-flyers Corsham Town (2pm kick off). It's a vital fixture between two teams whose form has been outstanding this season and who are seeking what could prove to be a pivotal victory in a wide open title race. Bassett triumphed 1-0 on home soil last season before the spoils were shared in the reverse fixture. Another close encounter is expected in their first meeting of the 2025-26 campaign.
