Former FirstEnergy CEO Chuck Jones and Vice President Michael Dowling are on trial in Akron accused by the state of bribing former Public Utilities Commission of Ohio Chairman Sam Randazzo to use his regulatory position in aid of the company. The very nature of this case puts Ohio’s state government on trial as well.
