Welcome to the Bay Area News Group (Mercury News & East Bay Times) girls Athlete of the Week poll.
For the entire academic year, we will provide a list of candidates who stood out over the previous week and allow you, the reader, to vote for the winner.
This week, we consider performances from Feb. 2-7.
Polls close at 5 p.m. Wednesday.
Vote as many times as you’d like until then without using bots or any other artificial methods of voting.
Votes by email and after 5 p.m. Wednesday are not counted.

Winners are announced each Friday online and in the print edition of the Mercury News and East Bay Times sports sections.

We accept nominations until 11 a.m. each Monday.

On to the nominees:
Katie Furey, Cupertino basketball: The senior guard averaged 15.5 points per game against Palo Alto and Wilcox, adding 4.5 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.5 assists. She led all scorers in both games, which her team won. Her game-winning 3-pointer with five seconds remaining helped Cupertino beat Palo Alto 36-35.
Allie Garrett, Livermore soccer: Garrett, a sophomore midfielder, scored the game-winning goal as Livermore beat Dublin 1-0. She “delivered a complete performance in the midfield, excelling defensively while also driving the attack and controlling possession,” Livermore coach Keith Miller said. “Her impact on both sides of the ball was key to Livermore’s win.”
Trinity Lacy, Santa Teresa basketball: The junior scored 24 points to lead all players as Santa Teresa beat Leland 65-49 in Blossom Valley Athletic League action. She added 22 points, 13 rebounds, seven steals and a block in a 63-58 win over Sobrato.
Abby Nelson, Los Gatos soccer: The junior striker scored two goals each in wins over Homestead and Palo Alto and added an assist against the Vikings as Los Gatos kept pace atop the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League’s De Anza Division.
Chloe Keating, Bishop O’Dowd soccer: The senior scored twice and assisted on one more goal as O’Dowd beat Alameda 6-0 in league action. She added three goals in a 9-0 win over Encinal.
Alyssa Rudd, San Ramon Valley basketball: Rudd led SRV with 21 points as the Wolves clinched their fourth straight East Bay Athletic League championship with a win over Monte Vista.
Shirina Shi, American basketball: The junior scored 50 points across two games last week, adding 14 rebounds, three steals and eight assists as American beat James Logan and Mission San Jose. She poured in 31 points in the win over MSJ.
Payton Siquig, Kennedy-Fremont basketball: Siquig finished the week with 50 points, 19 rebounds and nine steals as Kennedy went 2-1 with wins over Arroyo and Newark Memorial. The junior reached 1,000 career points in the game against Newark Memorial.
Gabby Wickham, Priory basketball: Wickham led all scorers with 16 points and added three rebounds as Priory beat Pinewood 42-40 to all but lock up the West Bay Athletic League Foothill Division title.
Windsor Worth, Brave Christian basketball: The freshman guard scored 38 points and added 20 rebounds, eight blocks, two assists and a steal as Brave Christian beat Quarry Lane 55-44. Worth is the leading per-game scorer in the state of California, according to MaxPreps.
