Catherine O'Hara's Cause of Death Confirmed
The cause of death for beloved actress Catherine O’Hara has been revealed.
If you did not see the tragic news, the Emmy winner, known for roles in classics like Home Alone and Best In Show, as well as Schitt’s Creek, died at the age of 71 on Friday (January 30) following a “brief illness.”

Her cause of death, per TMZ, has been listed as “pulmonary embolism, with rectal cancer as the underlying cause.”
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office also revealed that she was cremated.
According to the Mayo Clinic, “A pulmonary embolism is a blood clot that blocks and stops blood flow to an artery in the lung. In most cases, the blood clot starts in a deep vein in the leg and travels to the lung.”
It was said that paramedics were called to her home in Brentwood, Calif. at 4:48 a.m. on the day she passed for medical aid call and was transported in “serious condition.”
