U19s Host Rangers In League Cup
The wee Hibees face off against Rangers for a second time in as many weeks in League Cup action this midweek – read below to find out more!
THE LOWDOWN
Darren McGregor’s side took on Rangers last week in the CAS Elite U19 League, battling hard to extend their lengthy 22-game unbeaten league run.
Conor Owen’s early opener was initially nullified by Jamie McMurdo’s equaliser before the hosts regained the lead through Kyle Glasgow on the cusp of half-time. Logan Jimenez would net the only goal after the restart to ensure the points were shared between the two title contenders.
This point keeps Hibs level with Rangers on points at the top of the league table, with both teams sitting on 17 points – though we have played two matches less than the Gers.
The wee Hibees are now unbeaten in four consecutive matches against Rangers, and will look to extend that streak with another positive result on Tuesday evening.
THE VISITORS
Just like the Hibees, Rangers have played just one CAS Elite U19 League Cup match so far this campaign – with the Glasgow outfit picking up a 3-0 home win over Motherwell in December.
Zebedee Lawson and Josh Gentles, who netted twice, were amongst the goals on the day as Liam Ross’ side made a winning start to the group stage.
The Gers now return to HTC for the first time since September 2025, which ended in a 2-1 league victory for the wee Hibees.
Callum Burnside had levelled for the visitors following Josh McDonald's opener, before Zach Bruce popped up with a terrific winner in the 89th minute to seal all three points for Hibs.
