Lindsey Vonn Injury Update: Official Reveals She'll 'Be Okay'
More updates have been revealed about Lindsey Vonn‘s condition.
If you did not see the news, the 41-year-old crashed just 13 seconds into her Olympics competition and had to be airlifted off the ski slope via helicopter. She then was “treated by a multidisciplinary team” and “underwent an orthopedic operation to stabilize a fracture reported in her left leg” at Ca’ Foncello hospital, and we learned that she actually had to be transported to that hospital in a two-hour journey.

Anouk Patty, chief of sport for U.S. Ski and Snowboard, told the AP, “She’ll be okay, but it’s going to be a bit of a process. This sport’s brutal, and people need to remember when they’re watching [that] these athletes are throwing themselves down a mountain and going really, really fast.”
Just days before the Olympics, she tore the ACL in her knee during the downhill race at the World Cup and chose to still compete.
